There will be a 10-minute break each hour.
AUDITION DETAILS:
• All participants and auditors must be members of
ATXtheatre.org to attend this event. It's FREE to join.
• A stage manager will keep our days on track; you’ll get a break every hour; snacks/bevs will be provided.
• Note-taking sheets with photos/names will be provided. Actor resumes will be clickable on our website, so bring a laptop or tablet if you’d like to view them as you watch auditions. (We do not distribute printed headshots/resumes.) You'll continue to have access to the headshots/resumes for a year.
• We’ll send you refined schedules after our actor sign-up process.
• For the most part, the earlier sections of each day will consist of monologues only -- actors will bring 90 seconds or less of material, and will be cut off at or before the 2-minute mark based on stage manager judgement. Some monologue-only auditions may be added at the end of each day.
• The later sections of each day will largely include 16 bars of a song along with monologue(s)
• No dance audition this year.
• A free parking pass for the days you will attend will be sent to you one week prior to the audition.
WHO YOU’LL SEE:
• Between 160 and 200 actors in person over the 2 days. All actors will be at least 18 years old.
• Standby actors will be invited to wait in case of no-shows.
• Additional online auditions (for actors who cannot attend) may be viewed after the in-person session.
HOW IS THIS AUDITION HAPPENING?
In its second year, the ATX Theatre Citywide Auditions bring people who cast actors together with local talent in the spirit of Awareness, Belonging, and Collaboration. This audition has no cost barrier, but contributions are welcome at the door.
