Professional Development (PD) for Educators sessions are scheduled on weekdays within 3 weeks of the dress rehearsal date at locations in or near the Opera House (available information on the following page). A scholar explains the story, characters and music of the opera and discusses ways to integrate it into your syllabus. A singer performs an aria from the opera or a similar work. Resource materials are provided.
SF Opera offers academic credit (CEUs) through Cal State East Bay for our professional development offerings. Please indicate on the application if you are interested in receiving more information. Educators must notify SF Opera Education staff 3 weeks prior to the Dress Rehearsal date if they wish to obtain credit.
This program is restricted to students in degree programs only. For options for non-degree programs, please contact the Group Sales Department at email@example.com.
Professors may elect to send a student to the Before the Curtain options and convey the information back to the class.
