The Luminas 2025: Nomination Form

The Luminas, presented by Diversity Arts Australia and Media Diversity Australia, honour First Nations and culturally diverse trailblazers who have shaped storytelling and made a significant impact in their communities and industries in Australia. 

There are three categories with six honours in total: three (3) media and three (3) arts/creative sector. 

Public nominations will be considered by two industry judging panels (Arts/Creative and Media), which will make final selections based on specific criteria.

Honours Categories:
STORYTELLER: For truth-tellers shaping cultural identity through narrative and perspective.
LEADERSHIP: For visionaries transforming systems, mentoring others, and creating space.
HALL OF FAME: Lifetime recognition for transformative, decades-long contributions to the arts and media.

Nominations will be assessed on the following four areas. Please provide short statements (approx. 150 words each), with examples where possible:

Impact & Contribution
How has the nominee made a significant impact in their community, industry, or nationally? (Scale, reach, and influence)

Leadership & Representation
How has the nominee advanced equity, justice, or representation in media and/or the arts? (Support for others, advocacy, visibility)

Innovation & Originality
How has the nominee shown creativity, innovation, or bravery in their work? (Unique approaches, challenging norms)

Legacy & Relevance (if applicable)
What is the nominee’s lasting legacy, or how are they currently shaping Australia’s cultural narrative?
