ACCESSIBILITY IN A REMOTE STELLENBOSCH
Propose innovative solutions for improving access to services for communities and small businesses in and around Stellenbosch. From ways to improve access to transport, to technology accessibility for entrepreneurs or schools, accessibility to healthcare, education or local procurement of services and staff, we welcome all creative and innovative ideas.
WHO CAN ENTER?
Anyone living, working and/or studying in Stellenbosch and surrounds or any business based in Stellenbosch and surrounds.

CATEGORIES FOR ENTRY

1. New Idea:
The purpose of this category is to attract potential entrepreneurs or innovators to submit their ideas for solving problems related to accesibility in Stellenbosch. This category for businesses that do not yet exist, but are simply good ideas that make business sense. Contestants should ideally present innovative approaches to solving problems, while being financially sustainable. Existing or operational businesses may not be entered into this category.

2. Existing Business:
This category is for existing businesses that provide solutions (technical or non-technical) to social challenges in Stellenbosch relating to accessibility. These businesses might be formal or informal and for-profit or not-for-profit. Regardless of the nature of qualifying businesses, these businesses should be revenue generating, have the potential of becoming self-sustaining entities, should not be donor-dependent (e.g. charities) or be based on limited-timeframe project(s).

PRIZES & PERKS
All entrants will receive free entry into an Online Value Proposition Masterclass to help you take your idea or develop your business proposition further.

Top 3 innovators/businesses and their ideas/solutions will be selected by a of expert panel and will be showcased on Stellenbosch Network’s website and social media for public vote to decide the winner.

R20 000 in Prize Money up for grabs!
JUDGING CRITERIA FOR SHORTLISTING
Is the idea/business offering clear and economically feasible?
Who will the idea/business help. Does it solve a problem relating to accessibility?
How is the business/idea different from its competitors?
Is the idea/business opportunity realistically achievable?
Has the idea been tested/implemented in the market yet?


Entries close 21 September 2020
All applicants will be notified by 7 October 2020 whether they have been shortlisted or not.
