Registration is due Monday, January 14, 11:59 p.m.
The Kansas 4-H Dog Care and Training Action Team is sponsoring a dog judges’ certification, re-certification, and project training to better prepare judges and volunteer 4-H leaders on the standards of 4-H showmanship, agility, obedience, and rally obedience. The format allows for training in specific or all four phases, showmanship, agility, obedience, rally obedience. Judges may certify in all phases or re-certify in specific phases. The training is available to anyone interested in the Kansas 4-H Dog Care and Training project as observers (members 16 or older and/or project leaders) and current and potential dog show judges who will receive an opportunity to actually score classes and test their knowledge via a written test.
To be certified as 4-H Dog Show judges, participants must pass a written quiz and judging exercise for each discipline (showmanship, agility, obedience, rally obedience) in which they wish to certify. These tests will be given after each section. If it has been five years or longer since you were certified, we strongly encourage you to re-certify! Those individuals longer than 6 years since their last certification may be removed from the list following this training.
Refunds will not be given after January 15, 2019, unless the dog judges' certification is cancelled due to low registration numbers. Participants must be present at the end of each phase to take the appropriate test. Anyone leaving early will not receive credit for completing each specific or all disciplines.
