“A Tradition of Excellence” Certified Staff Member of the YearThe Certified Staff Member of the Year recognizes and honors the contributions of outstanding Certified Staff Members who have demonstrated a commitment to the mission and vision of the Astoria School District. The Certified Staff Member of the Year also inspires, motivates, encourages and helps students excel in school. The employee selected must be in good standing within the district.

ASD VISION STATEMENTThe vision of the Astoria School District is that every student acquires the knowledge and skills they need to successfully and confidently transition through each level of our learning community. Our students emerge as engaged life-long learners and citizens of a greater community. They are fully prepared for the demands of life having been provided with a challenging and comprehensive academic program.
“A Tradition of Excellence” Collaboration Recognition AwardThe ASD Collaboration Recognition Award will honor a group of teachers who work together to positively impact student learning. The ASD Collaboration Recognition Award will be given to a group of teachers who are striving to work together to help students meet the mission and vision of the Astoria School District. In addition the “A Tradition of Excellence” Collaboration Recognition Award will go to a team of teachers who demonstrate outstanding teamwork, exemplary work performance, and improve student learning through their collaborative work.
Staff members will be recognized for “A Tradition of Excellence Awards” at a community recognition event in which the date has yet to be determined. At this community recognition event there will be recognition for anniversary dates of employment with the district (10 years, 20 years, and 30 years). “A Tradition of Excellence” is be an annual event that is sponsored by the Astoria School Foundation.
