This Fall, the Peabody Preserve Outdoor Classroom is proud to present a special community led event: A production of Shakespeare's spookiest play, MACBETH!
Led by local director and theatre educator Peter Royston, this unique production will be shown along the beautiful paths of Peabody Preserve. The performers - adults, middle school and elementary students from the community - will perform scenes from Macbeth at different points on the Preserve's winding paths while the audience follows along, going through the mysterious woods with the characters.
Kids Grades 2 - 4 play the Witches and Wizards who tempt Macbeth into making bad decisions! Black cloaks, pointy hats and lots of spooky and fun chanting around a cauldron guaranteed!
Kids Grades 5 - 12 play the speaking parts in Macbeth, including Macbeth, Lady Macbeth and many other cool, swashbuckling roles!
MACBETH will also include several adult performers working alongside the kids. No prior experience or memorization needed. It is a reading performance and all actors will have a script in hand.

Date: Tuesday, November 8 @ 5:30 -7 pm
Rain date: Wednesday, November 9 @ 5:30 -7pm
Age Range: For all who are interested in night time exploring and listening
Maximum Participants: 20
Come see and hear what happens at night in the woods! It gets dark early, so little ones can take a night walk and still get to bed for a school night! We will walk into the woods at dusk when we have the best shot of encountering a wide assortment of crepuscular (active at dusk and dawn) and nocturnal birds and mammals. We will enjoy a relatively quiet walk but talk about and try different techniques for finding the beasts of the woods. We will be guided by the light of the Frost/Snow/Bear Moon, and also talk all things moon.
