Join the SPARK Initiative Team for a 1 year, intensive and immersive leadership experience that will gather an impressive, creative, and inspiring group of young change-makers that form a strong coalition for positive, sustainable change in their (our) community. This unique opportunity will provide 8-10 young people with a yearlong, paid leadership training and education with opportunities for hands on experience in mental health, education, foster care advocacy, suicide prevention, child abuse prevention, criminal justice systems, sexual abuse prevention/awareness and violence prevention.

Not only will the interns chosen get live, hands on experience on a local level, they will be given the opportunity to attend a 10 month, Global Change Incubator Leadership program that will include training from our partner organizations, One Solution based in Chicago and the Insight Alliance in Portland, Oregon.

Throughout the year, the internship will guide and support each chosen intern in learning about the power of their mind and resilience but also in launching their own community initiative (either with The SPARK Initiative or on their own).

This internship has 4 main focus areas:
•Explore the power of our mind and resilience, and how to create change from the inside out.
•Express what you're learning and your own insights to others, via your creative art form and community engagement.
•Collaborate with the SPARK Team and your fellow interns to develop community initiatives that excite you.
•Launch 3-5 creative, innovative, community initiatives by the end of 2021.

All of our interns will be from the greater Tampa area and passionate about varying issues that affect their communities. Each chosen intern will have specific creative skills for either in person programming and media creation: web design, digital design, social media, videography, photography, audio technology, event planning, community involvement ideas and writing. The leadership Internship will be a mix of learning, activities, creating content/art, projects, and community engagement. You will work both in a team towards a common goal, and on your own craft.

Interns chosen will be paid a monthly stipend for attendance and completion of all tasks during that month and an opportunity to be a part of the 10-month Global Change Incubator Leadership program.

THIS INTERNSHIP WILL BE AVAILABLE ONLINE and In PERSON until the current COVID-19 changes.

Time Commitment:
•1-year program (January 2021 -December 2021)
•One day a week for 3 hours (Group Learning Activities -virtual until COVID changes).
*Day and time will be chosen after interns are chosen and schedules are agreed upon.
•Working on projects on your own time. Estimated 2/4 hours a week
•Shadowing Local Programs in schools or jails as allowed access per COVID changes
•Opportunity to attend the Global Change Incubator
*If chosen to participate in the Global Change Incubator, you must commit to attend the 4 weekends of the program, plus online webinars, and calls.

Prerequisites:
We are looking for two age groups:
Between 15 - 25 years old and 25 - 35 years old.
Live in the greater Tampa area or see value is participating in a virtual co-hort.
Have an interest in creating a positive change in your community, and being a leader
Have a specific skill(s) in a programming, community events or creative expression (see examples below)
Able to produce creative work related to your skill and interest
Can work virtually during the whole period (if Covid-19 restrictions continue)
Can commit to full attendance for the whole period.
Are pro-active and engaged and committed to action.
