GFAFest Volunteer Application
Galaxy Far Away Foundation (501c3) believes the world needs more Science, Education, Art and Music (SEAM). We strive to bring more light to the Universe by creating and promoting events and activities in the Pacific Northwest that spans the SEAM fields. Making these activities accessible to all ages, creeds, orientations and socioeconomic backgrounds is paramount. In this ever changing world, we want to help bring some Science to your Fiction and have fun doing it.
To apply to volunteer at the festival, each applicant must fully complete the online form and submit payment for the $5 volunteer impact fee. Impact fees help offset the costs of the volunteer program, including volunteer t-shirts, meals, and onsite perks. Any applicant who is not accepted to volunteer will receive a full refund of their impact fee; otherwise, this fee is nonrefundable.
Festival Weekend: All volunteers must submit a deposit prior to the festival weekend. This deposit will be refunded in full upon completion of your volunteer obligations. Volunteers work a total of 9 to 12 hours, divided into 3 shifts*. Volunteers MUST arrive at the venue no later than 6pm on Friday August 16th, attend the volunteer orientation, and complete all assigned shifts+. Volunteers must also agree to follow rules and guidelines, which are in place to help ensure the safety and the integrity of our event!

In exchange for their amazing contributions to the festival, volunteers receive: admission to all days of the festival, free parking; a special volunteer t-shirt, one meal per volunteer shift, and the satisfaction of being a part of the magic that is GFAF!
