The Festival would simply not be possible without volunteers.

Guide for Volunteers

● Please arrive at the appointed time.
● On arrival introduce yourself to the Box Office/Bar/Food/Event Manager and attend any briefing.
● You may spend most of your time on your feet so ensure you have comfortable shoes.
● Please ensure you keep an eye on temporary structures such as props and lighting rigs and inform the event manager if you have any concerns.
● There may be occasions when volunteers will need to address a minor incident with festival attendees e.g. unruly behaviour of individuals or minor accidents.
● If an incident is becoming, or might become, a problem please inform the event manager.
● Volunteers are not expected to provide first aid.
● If an event has to be evacuated please support the event manager by keeping the public calm and moving them to the closest (and safest) exit.
● Please familiarise yourself with the location of the exits.

Volunteer Code of Conduct

Here are a few guidelines designed to clearly set out our expectations and to help protect the work of the Festival and its reputation.

We expect volunteers to:
• conduct themselves with courtesy and consideration towards everyone with whom they come into contact
• observe any operational or technical guidance
• handle all queries promptly in accordance with the highest professional standards, calling on the help of
other volunteers when necessary;
• maintain the confidentiality of festival goers
• not use their status as a THF volunteer for any personal, political gain or financial gain
