"Update!" Name Change Workshop application
Grand Rapids Trans Foundation's "Update!" Name Change Workshop provides guidance, legal assistance, and microgrants to Trans and Non-binary residents of KENT COUNTY, MI. The information in this workshop is specific to KENT COUNTY, MI.

To be eligible, you must:
     1. Be a Trans or Non-binary person. If you are a parent/guardian of a Trans or Non-binary child, or a case worker of a Trans or Non-binary patient/client, you may fill out this application on their behalf.
     2. Have lived in KENT COUNTY, MI, for one year or longer. You may still apply if you have lived here less than one year.

These workshops and accompanying microgrants are on a "first come, first serve" basis. If space for an upcoming workshop has already been filled, you will be placed on a waiting list for future workshops.


The information you submit via this form will be kept confidential.


Filling out this form does not establish a lawyer-client relationship with GRTF. GRTF does not take on name change clients directly in a legal capacity, but operates the Name Change Workshop in partnership with volunteering attorneys. If you do not live in KENT COUNTY, MI, the volunteer lawyers will be unable to assist you with your name change.

Note: The "Update!" Name Change Workshop cannot provide referrals to individuals with unresolved warrants. If you have open warrants, they must be cleared before you can be determined eligible for participation.
