Bijloke Summer Academy - Photography
‘Believing is Seeing’ - Developing a Critical Approach to Documentary Photography
08.09 – 12.09.18
Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) – Campus Bijloke

This five-day masterclass with Max Pinckers and Mathieu Asselin focusses on developing a personal vision, critical attitude and individual approach towards the production of an artistic body of work within the context of documentary photography. Based on a series of one-on-one mentoring sessions and group discussions, participants will be encouraged to question notions of truth, authenticity, objectivity and the underlying belief systems that drive our hyper-visual culture today.

Bijloke Summer Academy offers coaching for young makers & artistic teams who are eager to develop an artistic idea within the field of music theatre, transmedial performance, contemporary dance, photography, jazz and chamber music. Bijloke Summer Academy is an initiative by eight partners, all physically located at De Bijloke Site in Ghent: les ballets C de la B (contemporary dance), LOD Music Theatre (production house), Music Centre De Bijloke (venue), Royal Academy of Fine Arts (KASK) & Royal Conservatory Ghent, SPECTRA (contemporary music ensemble), JazzLab (concert organizer), Ghent Festival (event organizer) and International Opera Academy.

Deadline: September 1, 2018
