President's Leadership Award
Nominations may be submitted by members of the Medical Society of PEI.
Nominations can be submitted in the form of an online form, letter or email.
Closing date for entries: Midnight, September 21, 2017.

Awarded to a physician who demonstrates the qualities of leadership that enable collaboration and innovation that contributes to better patient and population outcomes.
CRITERIA: (one or many may apply)
- Models leadership qualities of integrity, inspiration, openness, confidence and transparency.

- Recognizes the patient as central to any healthcare planning and demonstrates a patient-first perspective in leading change.

- Has a track record of creating an environment of collaboration amongst diverse groups. Creates and supports meaningful opportunities for others to contribute in achieving results.

- Has a demonstrated ability for innovative thinking and an ability to challenge the status quo to identify issues, create opportunities and solve problems.

- Is recognized by his/her peers as the ‘go-to’ person when leadership is required to break through complex problems and find resolution by bringing differing points of view together to collaborate on an innovative solution.

Tips for writing your nomination:
Be as specific as possible in describing both the physician’s leadership abilities.

Described the impact he or she has had.

Provide a specific example where the physician has gone “above and beyond” the expectations of their position.

Explain why this physician deserves the President’s Leadership Award (see criteria).
