Knightdale HS of Collaborative Design is considering a school calendar change from traditional to the Knightdale Highschool aligned calendar to begin in the 2020-2021 school year.  Before a proposal on a change is brought to the Board of Education for consideration, we would like to be sure that we hear from our current and potential families.  Please answer the questions below and click submit when finished. The calendar change for Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design will allow the school to align to the Wake Technical Community College Calendar and finish the first semester before winter break.  Our leadership team feels that our student learning experience and student outcomes will be positively impacted due to this. Alignment to the Wake Technical Community College Calendar allows our students to receive high school level support for the college classes in which they enroll.  We will advocate for a five day a week class structure and many classes taught by our staff either in the Knightdale area or during the school day by our faculty or Wake tech faculty that understand the unique needs of high school students. By focusing on this support, students will not have to take a college course in a typical college setting.  Furthermore, students will have increased opportunities for classes by eliminating many transportation issues. An alternate calendar would provide an end to the semester before winter break and preventing learning loss during the break. By reducing the learning loss, students will be better prepared for all summative assessments and increase test scores at our school. (El cambio de calendario para Knightdale High School of Collaborative Design le permitirá a la escuela alinearse con el Calendario de Wake Technical Community College y terminar el primer semestre antes de las vacaciones de invierno. Nuestro equipo de liderazgo considera que tanto la experiencia de aprendizaje como los resultados de nuestros estudiantes se verán impactados de manera positiva debido a este cambio. La alineación con el calendario de Wake Technical Community College les permite a nuestros estudiantes recibir apoyo al nivel de la escuela secundaria para las clases universitarias en las que se inscriben.
