If you want to be considered for the Norwegian National Team for European Games 2026, you must fill out this form to register for the closed trainings that will be held this season.
SHORT ABOUT THE 25/26 SEASON (
PLEASE READ):
EG will be held over 3 days in Salou, Spain, around the weekend of October 3rd and 4th 2026.
Sten is continuing as head coach which means the main concepts of the past two season will be carried on to the 25/26 season.
Players that wants to participate at EG are strongly encouraged to prioritise the national team weekends the coming season, and attendance might to some degree affect the team selection. The team selection will likely be made closer to EG compared to the selection for WC last season since the coaching team observed a significant development in players that came to the spring sessions and they wish to take this into account this season
The first national team training weekend will either be held at the beginning of September or the beginning of November. A training weekend in Trondheim is not guaranteed this season and will depend on the capacity of the coaching team. A final decision will be made within the next weeks and communicated as soon as possible.
WHO CAN JOIN?
In accordance with requirements set by the IQA, NRF has decided that players can apply for a spot on the national team if they fulfill the following criteria:
Anyone at least 18 years old before EG26 (likely held in October, 2026) AND AT LEAST ONE OF THE FOLLOWING:
- Norwegian citizenship
- Anyone who has lived in Norway for at least the last 3 years leading up to the event
- Anyone who has played quidditch only in Norway
- Anyone who has been registered as players in Norway during the current season (August 2025 to June 2026), and not in their nation of citizenship
Players who wish to play for the Norwegian national team cannot be part of another country's national team for the 25/26 season. This includes national team squad, training quad and staff.
The coaches also require players to attend at least one of the practice weekends held during the 25/26 season. This is so that players will be familiar with the systems used in the national team and to build cohesion in the team. There will likely be held 1-2 practice weekends in 2025, and 4-6 before EG in 2026.
Please note that players who only speak English will be expected to learn a few Norwegian words and phrases related to quidditch.
Also, please note that players must expect to pay for the trips to national team practices and European Games themselves, as NRF does not give out financial support. However, travelling players can apply for some financial support which is covered by the training fee of 200 kr which will be continued for the 25/26 season
Lastly, we want to point out that we expect you to be serious about this. Norway expects to do well at European Games, and we expect players who shows interest to be motivated.
