Nashua Heritage Rail Trail Community Garden APPLICATION
Thank you for your interest in joining us at our Nashua Heritage Rail Trail Community Garden location! Gate City Community Gardens is a program of Great American Downtown, a Nashua 501c3 non-profit, which seeks to foster social engagement, public wellness, safe neighborhoods, and environmental stewardship in the city of Nashua through community gardening and educational programming.

The price of a plot for the season is $35. Payments should not be sent with your application. Great American Downtown will contact you shortly about your application status, by March 7, 2020. All applications are due no later than March 1, 2020. In the event that you are unable to pay the season participation fee, no problem! Please contact paulwshea@downtownnashua.org to ask about our gardener scholarship program after you submit your application.

The location of the garden is just west of Pine St on the Nashua Heritage Rail Trail, between Everett St and Stevens Ave. Walk west from Pine Street along the Rail Trail, and you will see it! The 36 garden plots are about 32 square feet, or one 8x4 raised bed. The beds are very deep and can be gardened intensively, fitting a lot of plants into a small area. Water is available on site and usage is included in the garden plot fee. All gardeners are expected to take on one garden task (ie take out trash weekly, trim garden area grass biweekly, keep information brochure dispenser filled, etc) in addition to maintaining their own garden. All gardeners, new and returning, are expected to attend our annual gardener orientation meeting at the beginning of the season and at least one (4 hours) gardener work day.

Please fill out our 2020 online application below. If you have additional questions, please email us at paulwshea@downtownnashua.org or call us at 603-883-5700.

Thank you!
