You have a garden and you would like to access some free seedlings for your summer planting
You’re new to growing Asian-Am foods and would like to start & you’re looking for support with tips and best practices
You're looking for a community of people to nerd out and share with about Asian-American gardening
This workshop will help you to:
Gain confidence in planting ancestral foods from the Asian diaspora
Successfully grow these plants by understanding their unique needs
Reflect on your ancestral roots through the practice of growing cultural foods
This workshop includes:
Light snacks and refreshments
Identification and review of various edible plants from the Asian American diaspora 🥒
Hands-on planting 🌱

Q & A
ABOUT YOUR FACILITATORS:
- Lan Ngo. Lan grew up in San Jose and began her urban agriculture adventures there helping start community gardens and an urban farm. Lan currently resides in the East Bay and helps families build backyard edible gardens through her small business, Earth Orchid.
- Li Schmidt. Li is a first generation Taiwanese American farmer and founder of Cultural Roots Nursery. She has a decade of organic farming and gardening experience with a Masters in community development from UC Davis. She is also a farmer member of the California Farmer Justice Collaborative (CFJC) and the Asian American Farmers Alliance, which both work towards achieving justice for farmers of color.
