The course aims to equip seniors with mentoring knowledge and skills who wish to pursue fulfilling roles either as volunteers or in flexible work as para-life coaches and mentors to positively influence young lives through meaningful engagement with children between the ages of 9 and 12.
1.Speak with clarity and passion
2.Interact with children to identify their strengths and developmental needs
3.Guide children to:
- deal with peer pressure, fears/anxiety and anger
- build relationships with people they live with
- communicate well with others
- contribute towards helping others
- express their values relating to their daily lives
- build confidence, self-esteem and responsibility
4.Handle and overcome difficult situations
5.Conduct enrichment activities
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
1.Communicate clearly and passionately to engage and inspire children.
2.Identify children’s strengths and developmental needs through effective interaction.
3.Guide children in managing peer pressure, fears, and anger, while building healthy relationships.
4.Foster confidence, self-esteem, and responsibility in children.
5.Handle difficult situations and provide emotional support.
6.Conduct enriching activities that promote children's personal growth and development.
