Join us for an information sharing event and discussion on how mandated reporting and Child Protective Services (CPS) investigations can lead to harmful outcomes for children and families, and how professionals can better support New York's families. We will discuss alternative "
" strategies to promote child safety and family well-being, as well as the Supporting Families Together Act, new legislation to eliminate certain penalties for mandated reporters.
This event is the first of a series of events that will deepen dialogue and action around mandated reporting in our community. We hope to begin by bringing together mandated reporters (e.g., professionals working in health care, education, social services, childcare, behavioral health, etc.) in a thoughtful and respectful dialogue about how to reduce harm while meeting their professional responsibilities.
Everyone is welcome to join this collective effort to learn, reflect, and act.
