PIKPA - Food distribution team volunteer application form
To volunteer at PIKPA Camp, you need to have one of the specific skills we are looking for, be 23+ years old and stay for a minimum period of 8 weeks. This application form is to join the Food distribution team, which includes food box distribution and the kitchen on camp. The Food distribution team is a part of the camp operations team.

The context on the island has changed from emergency to a more permanent situation where people are staying on Lesvos for a longer duration of time. We are not in need of general short term volunteers as having many people come and go from camp can do more harm than good, however good intentions may be. Our primary concern is the camp's residents, which includes some of the most vulnerable cases on the island. Thank you in advance for your understanding.

Responses to volunteer applications can take up to 10 days. The next stage is a Skype interview with the Food distribution team facilitator. If you join the operations team there will be a 2 week trial period. Equally, if your plans change prior to arrival, please give us 5 days notice. We expect volunteers to be on camp between 4-6 hours a day, 5 days per week.

The Food Distribution team is facilitated by a long-term volunteer who is responsible for recruiting the volunteers in the areas mentioned above and regular reporting to the Administration and Services team. We ask for a minimum commitment of 6 months for this position including a 1 month trial period.
