#AASL19 Social Media Squad
Dear AASL Friends,
We are delighted to be serving as the social media chairs for AASL’s 19th National Conference & Exhibition in Louisville, KY November 14-16, 2019. (Check
for conference information.) We would appreciate your help. We need to recruit an “#AASL19 Social Media Squad” of enthusiastic conference attendees - both on-site and virtual - to help promote conference attendance in advance, and assure that the “back channel” of social media posts during the conference is active and lively, thereby enriching the content of and engagement in conference sessions and activities. So, what will be expected of you if you join this group? Just this ….
º Attend the conference.
º Commit to doing some promotional posts in advance of the conference and 6 or more social media posts each day of the conference. Your posts can be on Twitter, Facebook, Snapchat, and/or Instagram. Just be sure to use the #aasl19 conference hashtag and promote activities, share session and activity takeaways and resources, and/or build enthusiasm.
º Actively encourage your friends and colleagues to do postings (maybe even recruit someone new to social media), and remind them of the new-this-year digital badges they can earn.
º Attend the conference virtually by following social media posts and participating actively in the #NOTatAASL activities.
º Commit to serving as a "badge" validator, spending an hour or two a day shortly before, during, and after conference checking digital badge submissions, giving feedback, and awarding badges. We will send you more information on how to do this easy and fun task.
Your reward for participating? ….
º Lots of gratitude from the conference committee and AASL.
º Getting a special squad badge you can post on your website, blog, and any social media you like. (available soon)
º The self-satisfaction of knowing you did a good thing.
We hope you will consider joining the #AASL19 Social Media Squad. Please fill out this form to join, or contact one of us if you have questions. And, do feel free to share this request and form with friends and colleagues who may also be interested in joining the squad.
