CollegeBound Mentor Sign-up
In life, a true mentorship is one of the strongest, longest and most mutually beneficial relationships we can have. The CollegeBound Foundation’s new College Completion Program is currently seeking such mentors to work with one or two Baltimore City Public high school students as they enter college and pursue their degree. When mentors like you invest their time in Baltimore City’s brightest young students, we all benefit.

Mentor Qualifications:
• Sincere desire to help your mentee achieve their academic, personal and career goals—
especially to complete college.
• Strong listening skills and ability to suggest options and alternatives.
• Sensitivity to persons of different educational, economic, cultural or racial backgrounds.

Mentor Responsibilities:
• Must live in Baltimore and/or the surrounding area.
• Must be a college graduate.
• Must complete the mentor application and screening process.
• Make a 12-month commitment to develop and sustain a mentoring relationship with 1-2
college students.
• Make a 30-minute phone call at least once every two weeks to your mentee(s).
• Meet face-to-face with your mentee(s) once during winter and summer break.
• Support your mentee(s) in their academic, personal and career goals.
• Communicate regularly with the Associate Program Director (Dr. Stewart) and submit bi-weekly
contact notes.
• Notify the Associate Program Director when you need assistance, do not understand
something or have difficulty with your mentoring relationship.
• Notify the Associate Program Director of any changes in your contact information: address,
phone number, and email.
• Attend a in-service training session from 8:30am -12pm on Saturday, June 16, 2018 or Tuesday June 19, 2018.
• Attend the Meet Your Match (Mentee) on July 20, 2018.
