We just want to know a bit more about you & why this topic is important to you!
Your answer
Presentation title in 3-6 words *
3-6 words works best, the description can have more details! You can choose a working title and change it later
Your answer
Presentation description *
Best to talk from 3rd person. "E.g. Star wars fanatic Laura discusses...." Give a description using 2-3 sentences as a guideline (again you can change it later)
Your answer
Are you promoting an organisation or event? *
Nerd night is a community volunteer event, not an infomercial. TELL don't SELL, or the audience will get bored & annoyed. If you want to mention an organization or event, please keep it to the last slide (20 seconds) of your talk only, or on one slide near the end is OK too.
You need to email a headshot to in order to sign up to speak, OK? *
Useful links & tips
- Try to have 6 or less objects per slide
- Personal stories or shocking facts are great to start your talk & hook the audience in
- It's best to use images instead of text where possible

We'll give you some more pointers closer to the time

We provide a NERD LAB the weekend before your talk to help you present better, would you like to come? *
Would you want some "slide surgery" help? *
We provide "Slide surgery". If you send slides in advance (1, 20 or whatever) we can professionalise things & maybe streamline them for audience retention. Would you be interested in this?
General comments? Special considerations? Let us know.
The Nerd night team is happy to assist with any issues like stage fright, using PowerPoint, or any other general questions... Just ask.
