Healtex/HDR-UK early career event 2019
At the HealTAC 2019 conference in April 2019, there was interest from some of the early career researchers (ECRs) in organising an event(s) that will specifically focus on the needs of ECRs in training, skills exchange and building inter-connections that can lead to career development and interesting collaborations. Examples could include learning about best practice in text mining/NLP software development or basics of healthcare, mastering paper-writing skills, training in spotting opportunities for funding, help with fellowship/grant writing, etc.

In collaboration with the Health Data Research UK (HDR-UK), we are planning to organise an event in October 2019 to facilitate building the ECR community, scoping future events and learning something useful. For this latter objective, we would like to survey potential participants what the most interesting and common topics the colleagues would be interested to learn about are.

What kind of topics would you think would be most useful/needed for you? *
What would be the best format for the event? *
How long should the event be? *
If you plan to attend the event, would these dates work for you *
As a separate or combined event, we are planning a "skills exchange" event for ECRs to share their ‘under the bonnet’ skills (e.g. programming, NLP, study design, PPI activities) to support projects of others. Would you be interested in taking part? *
