The Youth Farm Project Mission
Our mission is to empower youth from diverse social and economic backgrounds as integral participants in building equitable local food communities. YFP is dedicated to healing our food system through an anti-racist organizing lens by bringing together youth from diverse backgrounds to explore environmental and social injustice within the food system.

SUMMARY OF THE POSITION: The Field Trip Facilitator is instrumental in helping to ensure a positive experience for students from Tompkins County, pre-k to 4th grade arriving for field trips at the Youth Farm Project. The position is responsible for enthusiastically greeting and leading students around and teaching them about the farm. This position is primarily Tuesdays and Fridays.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Actively engage in developmentally appropriate Field Trip Lessons (as outlined by Youth Farm Project staff) and explorations around the farm. Provide Community Codes (The Youth Farm Project’s ground rules). Act as additional support on the farm ensuring the safety of kids. Provide assistance with field trip set-up and clean-up. Additional tasks to support field trips available on a case-by-case basis.
