1. Overview
PREAMBLE: In accordance with Article 26 of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP), and in recognition that UNDRIP was granted royal assent by the Government of Canada (21 June, 2021), the Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ First Nation has introduced a number of new initiatives to exercise our Indigenous rights to manage our traditional lands and resources therein. The introduction of this research license, passed into law by Band Council Resolution (7 February, 2022), is one such initiative.
