Introduction to our local timebank
Timebanking - a simple way to give your time and skills and receive the time and skills of others. One hour of your time given is credited to your account, earning you the opportunity to receive an hour of someone else's time that is helpful to you.  This can be as simple as dogwalking in exchange for car-repairing. Or spending 2 hours at a community meeting in exchange for an hour of aromatherapy and an hour of music tuition.  The time bank is administered by a committee who set the criteria for creditworthy time/skills.  These must contribute to the greater good of the community by developing, for example, neighbourliness projects, youth work, support for older people and improving wellbeing and environments.  To find out more about the ideas behind Timebanks visit
