UNARC is an
International Civil Society Coalition for UN accountability for systemic racism and police violence against Africans and people of African Descent. The coalition grew organically to push for an effective follow-up at the HRC to Resolution 43/1.
UNARC is composed of members from different parts of the world including representatives of social movements, national, regional and international NGOs and international experts. It includes both members working on police violence against Africans and people of African Descent as well as human rights organizations engaging with the UN. The coalition prioritizes the lived experiences of Africans and people of African descent, centering the experiences of the Black communities and their demands for justice, equality and repatations.

We welcome organizations working on anti-Black racism, directly impacted people*, and mainstream human rights organizations engaging with the UN.
Please note that UNARC is not a grant-making foundation. Currently we are not able to support any activists or academics directly.
* By directly affected people we mean those who have suffered the impacts of the criminal justice system, such as those who have spent time in law enforcement institutions and their loved ones, as well as people who have been victims - or family members of victims - of violence by law enforcement.
