Leadership drives the mission and vision of the PTA. The growth and development of leaders at all levels of PTA are critical to our success!
Are you interested in serving at the region level? Do you wish to recommend someone who is a leader in your PTA? If the answer is yes to either of these questions, please complete this form as we begin the process of searching for region leadership for the 2020-2021year.
Note: Nominees for elected officer positions shall have served at least one (1) year on the region board OR have served as an elected officer of a unit or council in the region.

For which position(s)?
Assistant Director: Organizes new units and stabilizes existing units within the region
Advocacy: Will work to remain informed on advocacy issues and policies of NYS PTA and National PTA
Awards: Notify units about each award and application requirements, with an Awards committee no later than the September Region meeting.
Beacon Editor: Responsible for editing and organizing the information provided by members of the Region Board in newsletter format. .
Bylaws: Serve as resource and liaison for Western Region units and councils for questions on bylaws, procedures, job descriptions, and parliamentary procedures.
Education: Will keep the Region Board informed on education issues in the region, state and nation.
Environment: Inform the local units and councils about environmental issues and Earth Day Week activities
Family Engagement: Will work to provide information on how families can become engaged in school, and provide resources on family and parenting issues.
Health & Wellness: Informed about health issues for school attendance, sport activity, and child welfare.
Legislation: Will be keep the board informed about legislative developments as well as remain in contact with local legislators.
Membership: Will work to increase membership within the region, communicating closely with unit and council chairmen and presidents.
Outreach: Will become familiar with various parent groups, and reach out to areas that do not have PTAs
PARP: Encourage units to participate in the PARP program, chair the PARP awards committee for the region, and submit outstanding program to NYS PTA office.
PTA Store - Maintains inventory of PTA merchandise; Sets up and operates store at region functions
Public Relations: Will work to promote a positive image of Western Region PTA through media and explain the importance of public relations to PTA work to our units/councils.
Reflections: Encourage PTAs to bring arts experience into their schools by providing information regarding the Reflections program, organizing the region-wide Reflections program and region reception
Special Education: Will stay informed about special education laws and regulations affecting people with special needs and share that information within the region
Vendor Showcase Manager: Oversees the organization and operation of the showcase, a fundraiser for the region
Website: Will administrate and update the Western Region PTA website as needed.
Youth Member: Will keep the board informed on issues related to youth.
