Public Input Survey - Runyon Creek 9-Element Watershed Restoration Plan

Sound Rivers and project partners (City of Washington, East Carolina University, Kris Bass Engineering, Mid-East Commission, and NC State University) are seeking public input on the Runyon Creek 9-Element Watershed Restoration Plan. This plan was graciously funded by a NC Land and Water Management Trust Fund grant. 

9-Element Watershed Restoration Plans are a type of clean water plan that details a community's water quality concerns and strategies to address these concerns. A 9-Element Watershed Restoration Plan in place opens the door to funding for stormwater projects, which are critical to decreasing pollution and flooding. The Runyon Creek Watershed rains agricultural and low density residential areas in Beaufort County and homes and businesses on the east side of the City of Washington, North Carolina. Runyon Creek discharges to the Tar-Pamlico River in Beaufort County, a 303(d) listed (impaired) waterway.
