Sign-Up: CLES Trunk-Or-Treat Family Heritage Event (Oct. 22, 2023)

The CLES PTA is excited to announce its second annual CLES Trunk-Or-Treat Family Heritage Event, to be held on Sunday, October 22, 2023, from 4:00-6:00 p.m. (rescheduled due to rain, from original Oct. 14 date) at the CLES parking lot and blacktop. All CLES families are invited to participate in this fun and festive fall event, which will include children’s activities, a costume parade, and a ‘trunk-or-treat’ activity.

Families are invited to decorate their vehicle’s trunk, or a table or booth, to showcase a fall holiday, tradition, or family heritage. Adults and children are all encouraged to dress in costumes or apparel that represents a fall holiday, tradition or culture from their family heritage.

Please use this form to sign up for a trunk-or-treat display, and/or to RSVP for the number of people attending from your family. You can also indicate if you are available to volunteer or donate candy or prizes. Sign-up deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2023.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

Family Participation: We anticipate around 200 children (or more) attending this FREE family event, so family participation is highly encouraged. Families are invited to set up a trunk-or-treat display, or to donate candy or prizes for the trunk-or-treat activity.

TRUNK-OR-TREAT DISPLAYS: An individual family, or a group of families coordinating together, can sign up to provide a trunk-or-treat display. Displays can include your vehicle, or a table, tent canopy, booth or other type of outdoor display. Décor can represent a fall holiday, tradition or culture. Your display can include giving out a treat or prize (candy, snacks, stickers, pencils, small toys, etc.), or can be a simple game or activity (bean bag toss, carnival booth game, spooky sensory table, simple craft, etc.). NEED IDEAS? See last year's pics here: https://photos.app.goo.gl/HcoGenmwGhmDUvgn9). You will be assigned a specific parking space or lawn space to use for your display. Families are responsible for bringing all items needed for their display. All displays must be ready by 4:30 p.m. (setup can begin as early as 3:00 p.m.).

DONATE GIVEAWAY ITEMS for Trunk-Or-Treat: Families who do NOT plan to set up a display are highly encouraged to donate items to be handed out during the trunk-or-treat activity (candy, snacks, stickers, pencils, small toys, glow sticks, etc.). Donations can be placed in the CLES school front lobby vestibule in the bin, or in a bag labeled “trunk-or-treat supplies,” or you can coordinate drop off to Annette's house in advance of the event.

Costume Guidelines: Halloween costumes, family heritage costumes and other costumes are permitted and encouraged, but please ensure the style is appropriate for a family event with young children.

An individual family, or a group of families coordinating together, can sign up to provide a trunk-or-treat display.

If NOT providing display, are you willing to donate candy or prizes?

Families who do NOT plan to set up a display are encouraged to donate items to be handed out during the trunk-or-treat activity (candy, snacks, stickers, pencils, small toys, glow sticks, etc.). Donations can be placed in the CLES front lobby vestibule in a bag labeled “trunk-or-treat supplies” or you can coordinate with Annette for drop-off at her house in advance of the event.

What type of display will you provide?
CHECK ALL THAT APPLY. For those who will provide a display, answering this question helps the committee assign you a spot. Displays can include your vehicle, or a table, tent canopy, booth or other type of display. Décor can represent a fall holiday, tradition or culture. You will be assigned a specific parking space or lawn space to use for your display.
If doing a display - will you provide your own candy/prizes?
There may be anywhere from 200 to 300 children who attend this event. The PTA will collect candy and prize donations from other families who will NOT be setting up a display. You can use some of those donated items, to avoid having to supply your own, if you want, since you will be spending time and money on decorating your display.

Tell us more about your Trunk-or-Treat display
Are you combining together with other families? If so, please name those families so we can assign you the same location for set up. Do you need extra room for your display? Are you planning to set up a game or activity, or anything interactive? Families are responsible for bringing all items needed for their display - however, given there might be 200+ children, would you like to use some of the donated candy or prizes collected from other participating families?
CAN YOU HELP VOLUNTEER?
