Friends of Trees: Neighborhood Coordinator Sign Up 2017
Neighborhood Coordinators (NCs) are critical to the mission and success of Friends of Trees!

NCs work closely with their surrounding neighborhood NCs and with Friends of Trees staff to help their neighbors select and plant trees. They develop outreach strategies for the neighborhood and organize planting day logistics, like wrangling food donations to feed our hungry volunteer planters. This role involves anywhere from one to several hours/month (this role is flexible to accommodate your schedule) for 4-6 months before your neighborhood planting. No tree experience is necessary for NCs as we feel the most successful NCs share an enthusiasm for working with their neighbors and getting more trees planted.

We aim to have a Neighborhood Coordinator present in each neighborhood where we plant. While many of our neighborhoods across eastside Portland and Vancouver, WA have NCs, an incredible number do not! This leads to fewer trees being planted in these areas - we want to change that!

This role requires a brief training from our staff. Please fill out this form if you would like to join our NC team and we'll contact you to set up a time for a training with the staff person who works with your neighborhood. And should we find that we already have an NC in your area, we'll let you know other ways to help you planting event go off without a hitch!
