Leeds Beer Festival 2018 Volunteering Form
Some things change: For the first time Leeds Beer Festival will be held at Leeds Beckett University (formerly Leeds Met and before that the Poly). It's just a 4 minute walk from Millennium Square and Merrion Centre, and 12 minutes from the rail station.

But other things stay the same: This fabulous event is 100% run and organised by volunteers so we need your help from Monday 4th until Sunday 10th June.

When the festival is open as well as bar staff we need help with the stalls, welcoming guests, encouraging people to join CAMRA and general running of the event.

We always welcome volunteers but usually have plentiful numbers on Thursday and Friday afternoon sessions. Extra help is always needed for evening sessions (particularly the later part of the evening) and on Saturday.

Please also consider helping at set-up and take-down – without volunteers during these times there would be no Beer Festival! Don’t worry if you can’t manage manual handling (please state in the final question) because in addition to building bars and moving casks there are also plenty of lighter duties including putting up signs and setting up the tombola.

Even if you can only work a few hours, we’ll make you very welcome and offer you the chance to do something practical to promote real ale, cider and perry in Leeds and have fun into the bargain. If you’ve never come along to a branch event or volunteered at a festival before that’s fine as we always like to see new faces – we’ll show you the ropes and you can even practise pulling a pint!

To thank you for your support we offer to everyone:
» T-shirt (kindly provided by Leeds Brewery)
» Invitation to the Volunteers’ Party a month or two after the festival
» Discount on take-away beer from the Global Bar
» Free light refreshments at The Scarbrough Hotel (city centre) on the evening of Sunday 10th.

Also, there are extras depending on when you work:
Set-up (as some volunteers will be doing manual work and/or using power tools, alcohol will not be available)
» Beer/cider/perry available when the Festival is open – suggested = ½ pint per hour of set-up worked
» £2.50 food voucher per day – valid in a sandwich shop on Mon and Tue, and in a local chippy on Wed
Festival opening days
» Beer/cider/perry – suggested = ½ pint per hour worked
» Shared taxi home (within a reasonable distance) if you work to the end of an evening
Take-down
» Free sandwich and snacks in the early afternoon

Opening times - Thu 7th and Fri 8th 11-4 & 5-11, Sat 9th all day 11-11. All other times are for general activity, set-up or take-down.
