When No Building Permit Is Required
A building permit is not required when replacing a dock of the same size, configuration and location.

As a result of high water levels on Georgian Bay, many near shore dock portions and fixed docks are becoming unusable. If you need to raise these structures, a formal building permit may not be required.

If you are replacing or repairing your existing dock, please fill out the form below. This will assist the Township in tracking such work in your area and may also prevent an unnecessary visit from the Building Department regarding the proposed construction.
