Originally one of the ten main Japanese American Incarceration Camps, in 1943 Tule Lake became a Segregation Center for Japanese Americans who didn't fit the government's definition of loyalty. Now Tule Lake National Monument, neighboring Lava Beds National Monument, and the National Park system in general are under attack. The federal government has been drastically cutting the budget of the National Park Service, and has issued directives mandating the teaching of a certain type of history. Future budget cuts could lead to the shuttering of Tule Lake, Lava Beds, and many other sites. We ask that you join us in a gathering to once again, urge the general public and the government, to "Save Tule Lake!"
