The Spielberg Israel Scholarship Foundation of United Hebrew Congregation provides financial assistance for travel, living expenses, tuition and books to persons desiring to travel to Israel to attend college or high school educational programs, or approved summer tours. Any member of United Hebrew Congregation is eligible to apply to the Foundation.
The Spielberg Israel Scholarship Foundation committee meets once a year to review applications. If further information is needed, we will contact you before the meeting. You will be notified, via email, of the Board's decision.
The Foundation makes annual scholarship awards up to $2,000. Checks are mailed to the specific program prior to the departure date specified on the application.
The Spielberg Israel Scholarship Foundation awards non-repayable scholarships to qualified applicants. It is expected that scholarship recipients will, at a later date, make a contribution to the Foundation to help perpetuate the Foundation's educational contributions.
Upon return from the trip, it is expected that the participant will volunteer community service to United Hebrew for one year (youth group, teacher's aid, community service, etc.)
The applicant or his/her family must be a member in good standing.
