Aanii Boozhoo Relatives,
We are calling upon helpers to support a Four-Day Ceremony taking place simultaneously on the north and south shores of the Straits of Mackinac--the Heart of Turtle Island--this fall. Protected under the American Indian Religious Freedom Act of 1978, this gathering will include sacred fires, daily ceremonies, feasts, teachings, and offerings made for the water, our ancestors, our people, and all of Creation.
Lodge building will take place Monday through Wednesday, September 29 – October 1, with sacred firelighting and the first sunrise ceremony on Thursday, October 2. The ceremony will continue through Sunday, October 5. For those who are able to stay, cleanup will take place Sunday, October 5 – Monday, October 6.
We are looking for helpers to assist with logistics, fire tending, food preparation, lodge building, security, setup and takedown as well as clean-up, and supporting ceremonial space with care and respect.
This is NOT a protest. This is NOT a political gathering. This is ceremony.
If you feel called to help in a good way, please fill out this form and let us know how you can contribute.
CHI MIIGWECH!
