Saturday Mornings in Lent: Retreat into Silence
This Lent the pastoral staff of All Souls is offering three “mini-retreats” in our Nave on Saturday mornings, 9:30-11:30. These events will be structured as experiential workshops in which there will be some teaching on a particular spiritual practice, some sharing, and an extended time each participant will have to personally retreat into silence and find the welcome peace of God’s rest. Dates and topics will be:

March 9: “Entering into God’s Rest: The Gift of Silence”
March 24: “Rest for the Mind: Contemplative Prayer”
April 6: “Rest for the Soul: The Prayer of Self-Examen”

The retreats will be based upon teachings in Ruth Barton’s, Invitation to Solitude and Silence. There is no required reading, but books will be available to purchase for $10 as an option to use for a personal Lenten devotion, for preparation for the retreats, or for ruminating post-retreat.

Pre-register for one, two, or three of the retreats here. More specific material on the content of the retreat will be sent to pre-registrants before each retreat. Although preregistration is not required for adult attendance, we do ask that those who need childcare pre-register so that we are prepared to provide care for the children.

Childcare is available from birth through 5th grade. Youth are invited to participate with the adults upstairs.
