Finding land to farm can be an enormous stumbling block for farmers, particularly for beginning farmers, immigrant farmers and farmers of color. Farmland Access Seminar will provide beginning farmers with a comprehensive overview of land access strategies, tools and resources and help them plan their next steps towards land tenure. The day-long session is designed for farmers with 10 or less years of experience, who are ready to begin or are actively searching for land.

Farmers will learn
• Resources for finding and assessing land
• Costs and benefits for owning vs. leasing
• How to structure an equitable lease agreement
• Key considerations for planning your financing
• Tips for structuring your business plan

You’ll also find out snags to avoid any issues to anticipate

Farmers will also be introduced to the Farmland Access Hub, who's Land Access Navigators provide free, one-on-one assistance to farmers seeking land.
