MPI New England: Board of Directors Application
Each year, MPI New England’s Nominating Committee recommends a slate of candidates to serve as chapter leaders on the Board of Directors.  On behalf of this year’s Nominating Committee, please follow the prompts on the form below to submit your name, or the name of a peer, for a position on the Board.

The Board of Directors is made up of New England chapter members: Directors as well as Vice Presidents (VPs comprise the Executive Committee).  Active chapter members in good standing are eligible for nomination and election to any office.  For Executive Committee positions, it is preferable that the member have previous service on the Board of Directors. We have New England Executive Committee and New England Director positions are available for the 2022-2023 term.

The Nominating Committee is made up of planner and supplier chapter members in good standing, who are familiar with how the chapter functions, and are active in its meetings and events.

MPI Board of Directors Qualifications:
          - Be a Member in good standing.
          - Be willing to fulfill the obligations of office, in the capacity indicated
          - Have a history of involvement, accomplishment, and dependable service to MPI
          - Be willing to contribute time, energy, and creativity to the chapter with the consent of your employer

Serving on the board is not only demanding and challenging, but it is also extremely rewarding.  Consider becoming a leader in a chapter of the largest organization of meeting professionals.  This is your chance to contribute to the growth and professionalism of your chapter.
Before committing to a board position, please review the committee descriptions available on the New England MPI website (www.mpine.org) under the "Committees" tab. In addition, consider the following responsibilities of all board members:
          - Must attend and participate in 6 board meetings
            (generally precedes a monthly meeting every other month or is conducted via zoom)
          - Must submit a committee board report each month with fellow committee members
          - Attendance at monthly chapter meetings
          - Attendance at the 2-day Annual retreat in April, as well as the 2-day Mid-year retreat
            in January is essential
                              Annual Retreat: April 27-29, 2022 - Lake Morey Resort, VT
                              Mid-year Retreat: January 2023 - TBD
          - Contribution of information/articles for the newsletter as requested
          - And other responsibilities as outlined in the committee description section
Proposed Board Application Timeline (subject to change at the discretion of the Nominations Committee):
          - Application live on the Website by Monday, December 13, 2021
          - Application window closed at 6pm on Friday, December 31, 2021
          - Eligible Applicant Interview Period - January 5, 2022- January 15, 2022
          - Final Executive slate proposed to the current Board of Directors by
            1st Board Meeting of the new year - (January 2022, Date TBD)
          - Final Board of Director slate sent to full chapter membership for contestation/acceptance
            on January 31, 2022
          - Final Board of Director slate sent to MPI Global for confirmation March 1st, 2022
