Thank you for your interest in the Boise State University Literacy Lab! Please fill out this form to show your interest in receiving literacy tutoring in our lab. Our enrollment is limited based on the number of tutors we have each semester, but we will try to serve as many families as possible. Once we are sure about how many children we have space for, you will be contacted through email. If we have space for your child, you will need to complete "Enrollment Paperwork" and make payments to confirm enrollment. If we do not have space for your child, we will still send you an email notification.

The Boise State Literacy Lab tutors are undergraduate pre-service teachers (that is, undergraduate students who are taking classes to become teachers). They are enrolled in a course focused on literacy assessment and instruction, and part of their coursework involves tutoring a child under the supervision of lab supervisors.

PLEASE NOTE: Children in the Lab will be tutored either one-on-one (with one tutor) or in a small group of children (with two tutors) through Zoom. A parent or guardian will need to be present during the full tutoring time to support their child as needed.

Tutors in the Literacy Lab are currently studying to be teachers; thus, this semester is the first time many of them have tutored or tutored online. Please type your name below indicating your willingness to be present for each tutoring session to help your child get onto Zoom on time, help keep your child on task, etc. *

Tutors are required to record all Zoom tutoring sessions to receive feedback on their teaching and are required to collect all work samples from your child for review. All recordings and work samples will be kept secure and will only be used for educational and course related purposes. Please type your name below indicating you understand that all Zoom tutoring sessions will be recorded for educational purposes and that you will be required to send the tutor work samples after each tutoring session. *

While we will not be physically in the Literacy Lab, we still hope to use a combination of tangible books and digital texts. Tutors will prepare a list of books that are readily available at local libraries. Please type your name below indicating you are able and willing to go to a local library (or purchase if you prefer) the book list from your tutor. *

The Literacy Lab will be held online using Zoom each Tuesday and Thursday 4:30-5:30pm from 2/15 through 4/14. Parent conferences will be held on 4/17/22. Please check your personal calendars, school calendars, etc., and select any dates below that your child CAN NOT attend tutoring (excluding emergencies, of course). *
