What: The Excelerator: A legal workforce development course designed to help women of color explore meaningful career pathways within the law as paralegals, legal assistants, or lawyers.
Who: Up to 30 women who are over 18, have completed high school and are interested in legal careers.
When: We will be having 2 cohorts for 2026. The Recommended will be able to choose which cohort they'd like to be eligible for when they fill out their form:
Cohort 1: Tuesday Evenings from 6:30 pm-8 pm, January 20th-March 24th, OR
Cohort 2: Tuesday Evenings from 6:30 pm-8 pm, July 7th- September 8th
(Both cohorts consist of 3 Saturday Speaker Sessions)
Where: Remote
How: To participate, women must be recommended for the program. Recommenders may be colleagues, friends, self, and family members.
Why?: Esq. Apprentice is a workforce development leader for women seeking careers in law. You will learn about paralegal, legal assistant, and legal administrative jobs and how to access them at the community college, undergraduate level, and graduate level. You will also learn about how you can become a licensed lawyer via legal apprenticeship and get an introductory overview of key legal skills you will need to thrive in a legal career. Along the way, you will meet working lawyers and build a community of women of color with the potential to change the way the law works for our communities.
