Welcome to the first official iteration of Youthflics Showcase! Youthflics is an international film festival with an emphasis on youth works that promotes youth development. Without many film festivals out there that give rising filmmakers a chance to showcase and credibly embellish their films, Youthflics looks to make a difference in the community by helping the next generation of filmmakers further explore their passion.
Youthflics will take place on October 4th from 6 - 9pm PST, where it is inspired to create a hybrid environment: filmmakers have the accessibility of attending from home. The festival will take place on Zoom. Our tentative submission deadline for films is September 10th. To submit more than 1 film, please resubmit the form for each film.
Films made within the last two years by a cast / crew primarily between the ages of 14-21 are eligible for submission. Films will be competing in 3 sections: Short-form narrative, long-form narrative, and others.
Short form narrative: Film must be under 7 minutes and tell a fictional or fictionalised story, event or narrative. Films in this category will be competing for 3 awards: Best Cinematography, Best Editing & Effects, and Best Story.
Long form narrative: Films must be over 7 minutes but under 25 minutes and tell a fictional or fictionalised story, event or narrative. Films in this category will be competing for 4 awards: Best Cinematography, Best Editing & Effects, Best Story, and Best Writing.
Others: Films must be under 25 minutes and not fit into either narrative categories. This could include those such as edits, documentaries, etc. Films in this category will be competing for 3 awards: Most Creative, Most Emotive, and Best Cinematography.
