Downtown Santa Cruz Holiday Parade
The Downtown Association of Santa Cruz welcomes you to join us in celebrating the Annual Downtown Holiday Parade! The parade will happen this year on Saturday, December 7th, 2019 beginning at 10:00am at Pacific Ave. and Laurel St. Please fill out the form and submit payment to complete registration.

Registration for the Holiday Parade will close on November 25th.
Please Read Before Submission (IMPORTANT):
There is a non-refundable fee for each group participating in the parade (Fee schedule below). Payment is due immediately upon submission of this form - after you submit your response, the

Downtown Association Member, not-for-profit youth programs, and schools: Preschool-High School $50.00
Non-commercial community groups, Government agencies, adult sports, media, and for-profit youth programs $75.00
All other - $150.00

All participants / groups must carry an identifying banner, visible to the public or be otherwise easily identified.

Parking: The Downtown Association is not responsible for parking. Please pay close attention to time limits in downtown lots and meters. Please do not park in the Walgreens / Saturn Cafe parking lot.

Check in: Please have one representative from your group report to the staging / information booth (located on the corner of Pacific Ave. and Spruce St.) between 8:30 and 9:00 AM to check your group in. Parents are encouraged to use the Walgreen's / Saturn Cafe Parking Lot as a drop-off only point for children (accessible from Front St.). Please do not park in the Walgreens / Saturn Cafe parking lot.

Please do not throw candy, toys, fliers, advertisements, or other materials into the crowd, as the City of Santa Cruz prohibits this. Make sure EVERYONE in your group knows this.

The only Santa Claus allowed in the parade is Downtown’s Official Santa (the real Santa), who will be in a horse-drawn carriage at the end of the parade.

Vehicles: A truck, car, float, etc. - ALL VEHICLES MUST BE IN PLACE BY 9:00am as it is difficult to maneuver through the staging area after that time. If you have a larger vehicle or float, it is recommended to arrive earlier starting at 8:30am.
Please ensure that your entry description is accurate. If on the day of the parade, the entry is different than described, you may be asked to not participate.

Animals: If any dogs, horses, or other animals will be in the parade, participants will be required to clean up after the animals.

Parade applications must be received by November 28th. After that point, the form will close.

After submitting this form, you will receive a confirmation message with a payment link to complete registration. The fee is as follows will go towards parade expenses: $50 (for members: Downtown Santa Cruz businesses, non-profit youth programs, and schools Preschool-High School), $75 (for government, non-commercial community groups, car clubs, adult sports, media, and for-profit youth programs), $150 (for all other)
WAIVER OF LIABILITY, RELEASE,ASSUMPTION OF RISK AND INDEMNITY AGREEMENT
In consideration for the City of Santa Cruz (hereinafter known as, “City”) allowing the above-named Participant to participate in the Downtown Holiday Parade (hereinafter known as “Event”), the undersigned hereby acknowledges and agrees on behalf of myself, my organization, my employees, agents, invitees, and/or my minor child (guardian) to the following:
Assumption of Risk:
Participant understands that in participating in this Event, Participant voluntarily agrees to accept and assume any and all risks, known or unknown, including the risk of injury, property damage, or death. Participant is voluntarily participating in this activity and accept the potential dangers and hazards involved, known or unknown, anticipated or unanticipated. Participant agrees not to assert any claim, institute any suit or other legal process against the City, the Event’s co-sponsoring organizations, their respective OR City’s officers, officials, employees, agents or volunteers (collectively, the City Indemnitees”) for injury, death or damage resulting from or in any way related to participation in the above-referenced “Event.” *

Participant hereby agrees to release, discharge, hold harmless and indemnify the Indemnitees from and against all actions, claims, or demands (including attorney fees and costs) for injury, death or damage resulting from or in any way related to participation in the above-referenced Event by Participant, Participant’s employees, agents, invitees, or minor child/guardian, to the fullest extent permitted by law. *

Participant authorizes the use photographs and/or videos taken of Participant, Participant’s employees, agents, invitees, and/or minor child/guardian at the Event for reproduction in any medium for any lawful purpose. *

I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT I HAVE CAREFULLY READ THIS AGREEMENT AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS CONTENTS. I FURTHER CERTIFY MY UNDERSTANDING THAT THIS AGREEMENT CONSTITUTES A RELEASE OF ALL CLAIMS AGAINST THE CITY OF SANTA CRUZ, INDEMNITEES, AND AGAINST ALL OTHERS MENTIONED IN THE AGREEMENT. I FURTHER UNDERSTAND AND CERTIFY THAT BY EXECUTION OF THIS AGREEMENT I AM VOLUNTARILY ASSUMING ALL RISK INHERENT IN MY AND/OR MY CHILD’S(GUARDIAN’S) PARTICIPATION IN THE ABOVE-REFERENCED EVENT. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY SIGNING MY NAME TO THIS AGREEMENT AND BY DOING SO AM ACCEPTING ITS TERMS AS BINDING UPON MYSELF, MY CHILD, MY HEIRS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, INVITEES, LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES, ORGANIZATION, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS. *
