Summer Missions Job Application 2025
Dear Prospective Summer Missionary,
I am so excited that you are interested in serving across Etowah County this summer. We are looking for students, age 16-24 who: 1) Have a consistent and growing relationship with Jesus Christ as their Lord, 2) Are faithfully involved in a local church and 3) Have a humble desire to serve the community and to be prepared and trained in ministry skills and 4) Can work well with a diverse team of young adults! We are excited to see what God has in store. After your application has been received, I will reach out to you about setting up an interview toward the beginning of April.
If selected as a summer missionary, mandatory orientation week will be Monday, June 2- Wednesday, June 4, 2025 from 9 am - 5 pm, with a Tuesday night team building activity & practice at a local church on Wednesday night from 6-7 pm. Our program only lasts 6 weeks of summer (June 9-July 20th and we take some form or trip or retreat our final weekend together) so our desire is to hire summer missionaries who will be present for those weeks. We try to be flexible if you request one of those weeks off for a church retreat or camp or family vacation. Please come prepared to interview with your scheduling and time-off requests if you are already aware of them.
Below you will find a tentative job description and sample schedule. This is to help you understand what the summer "MIGHT" look like. The key word for every summer is "FLEXIBILITY," as ministry often pivots and changes. If hired, we will give you a summer calendar at orientation so that you can plan accordingly.
This online application will be sent to tracieg@etowahbaptist.com where you may also email any additional questions or communication as needed, or you may drop any needed documents or reference forms that cannot be sent electronically at Etowah Baptist Association through the mail slot at any hour (853 Walnut Street, Gadsden, AL 35906).
Praying for you as you consider this wonderful opportunity!
