This nomination form is for Committee Chair positions for the 2024-2025 school year. All entries are considered by the Nominating Committee during the annual Nominating Committee Meetings.

You may nominate yourself or others for the positions listed below. You may also submit for more than one position. If you are interested in helping with any Committees (non-Board positions) but not serving as the Chair, please indicate that in the additional comments section at the bottom of the form.

Fundraising Chair Positions

Poe Partners - lead annual giving campaign with both families and corporate partners

Book Fair - plan and manage annual week-long Scholastic Book Fair at school

Carnival - plan and manage large annual school carnival, with separate Co-Chair positions for Booths, Food and Drinks, Volunteers, Decorations, Tshirts, Bazaar. The Co-Chair positions are essential to this event so if you are interested in any one of those please indicate which in the comments section below (ex: Food and Drink Co-Chair)

Auction - plan and manage large annual fundraising auction, with Co-Chair positions for silent auction items, grade level art, and grade level gift baskets

Read-A-Thon – plan and manage schoolwide multi-week reading fundraiser, includes in person and online components

Socials - recruit parents and teachers to host fundraising socials, support with communications and ticket sales

Spirit Nights - plans and coordinates one Poe Spirit Night per month with local businesses, creates the flyer containing all pertinent information for advertising to our community.

Campus Support Chair Positions

Grounds - work with volunteers and vendors to maintain and improve grounds and atriums, plan and execute Grow With Poe Plant Sales and Beautification Days.

Capital Projects - leads effort to complete annual capital projects (multiple as listed in PTO budget)

Playground - maintains playground mulch and equipment, manages improvement projects

Lost & Found - organizes lost & found area at school, coordinates quarterly donation of items

Staff Appreciation - organizes breakfasts during the year, Winter Holiday Appreciation and leads Staff Appreciation Week in the Spring

Reading Mentors Program - works with teachers & volunteers to identify and read with students in the program

School Supplies/Uniforms - Coordinates with school supply and uniform vendors, communicates with teachers on updating student school supply kit lists, ensures distribution of kits as well as kits and uniforms to students qualifying for special assistance.

Poe Parent Patrol - leads effort to help students safely out of cars and into school at morning dropoff

Dad's Club - manages Dad volunteers to run Carnival Haunted House and assist with various school project needs year round

Room Parent Liaison - maintains communications with all room parents, holds room parent info/training session at the start of the year, identifies classes without a room parent and works to garner support

Family Enrichment / Experience Chair Positions

All Art Day - plans all the activities, guests and schedule for this all day celebration of art in the Spring

Back To School - plans all activities and refreshments for Back To School night in August and the first day of school

Fine Arts Career Week - plan and execute a series of presenters and guest speakers for our students throughout one week in the Spring

International Festival / Heritage - leads a large group of parent volunteers for this event in the Spring, including entertainment and interaction for students; may hold other Heritage events during the year if desired

Speaker Series - identify and book speakers and presentations that benefit the Poe parent community on a variety of topics

Odyssey of the Mind Coordinator - will familiarize themselves with the program, materials and deadlines. Hold a parent info meeting at the start of the school year and recruit parent coaches. Assist coaches throughout the process until the tournament to ensure deadlines are met. The coordinator can also coach a team.

Communications / Technology Chair Positions

Membership Toolkit - maintains and updates our school's communication and sales platform, helps educate parents and staff on how to effectively use

Raven/Poe In The Know - writes monthly newsletter that is distributed via email and in Monday folders

Community Relations/PR/Social Media - plan and execute stories about Poe and PTO activities for neighborhood news sources, keep the PTO's social media accounts current, engage the community on behalf of the PTO

Website Graphics - create, design, maintain and update images for Poe PTO use and website

Yearbook - plan and manage all aspects of Poe's Yearbook, including photography, layout, design and sales

VIPS Coordinators / Representatives

Incoming Kinder Rep - plans and manages three summer playdates for incoming Kinder parents, provides into on Poe and the PTO

Lanier Rep - provides information about news and events at Lanier, works with 5th grade teachers to help with Lanier tour for 5th grade

Bilingual Parent Rep - leads Spanish PTO efforts and activities, works with Bilingual Representative to ensure needs are

IB/GT Parent Rep - works with administration on efforts supporting and enhancing the GT and IB programs

Teacher Rep - faculty member who stays current on PTO activities, and helps communicate to and for the Poe teachers in PTO matters

Bilingual Teacher Rep - bilingual faculty member who stays current on PTO and Spanish PTO activities, and helps communicate to and for faculty and Spanish speaking parents on PTO matters

Grade Level Rep, Kinder - helps facilitate PTO communication to Kinder room parents, plus other grade level projects as needed

Grade Level Rep, 1st Grade - helps facilitate PTO communication to 1st Grade room parents, plus other grade level projects as needed

Grade Level Rep, 2nd Grade - helps facilitate PTO communications to 2nd Grade room parents, plus other grade level projects as needed

Grade Level Rep, 3rd Grade - helps facilitate PTO communications to 3rd Grade room parents, plus other grade level projects as needed

Grade Level Rep, 4th Grade - helps facilitate PTO communications to 4th Grade room parents, plus other grade level projects as needed

Grade Level Rep, 5th Grade - plans and manages 5th Grade graduation and end of year activities, helps facilitate PTO communications to 5th Grade room parents
