The Platform of Action for Renewable Energy (PoA) is housed at CAN International and works to coordinate CSOs on renewable energy agenda, narratives and activities. Its activities involve participants from the CAN network, wider CSO community and strategic like-minded allies outside the CAN network and CSO community.
☕️ About the Renewables Café
PoA hosts periodic virtual convenings dubbed ‘Renewables Cafés’ to bring together civil society organizations and like-minded allies, hosting a space for participants to discuss their renewable energy activities, collaborate where needed, and offer mutual support.
Participants would also share intel and updates on national, regional and global developments in the growth of renewables and related matters, to enable collective strategy formulation, narrative-building and joint intervention, as appropriate.
The ‘Café’ format reflects the informal, interactive, engaging, and participatory nature of the space. It is rooted in solidarity, peer learning, and shared purpose among progressive actors working across different contexts and mandates related to renewable energy.
Importantly, participants collectively decide the topic of the next session, ensuring that conversations remain grounded in current realities, challenges, and opportunities within the renewable energy landscape.
The Café is normally hosted every last Tuesday of the month, at 13:00 GMT – unless otherwise communicated.
