Stay calm and be ‘unshockable’, Listen carefully, Let them know that you believe them and that they were right to tell you, Let them know that it isn’t their fault, Don’t pressure them to give all the details or attempt to counsel them, Make notes after the disclosure and respect privacy & Advise the department leader/pastor

Advise the department leader/pastor/your upline that a disclosure has been initiated and handover to them. Stay if you feel comfortable to support the person.

Tell them they shouldn’t be telling you and that they need to go and tell the leader.
