Queens Borough President Donovan Richards Jr. wants to know where you think new trees should be planted in Queens. You can submit your recommendation by filling out the form below.
Residents are asked to supply the locations of empty lots or other sites that are not already paved over and are amenable to planting. Submissions of locations within existing city parks will not be accepted.
All submissions will be reviewed and used to determine where trees will be planted through a $100,000 allocation by Borough President Richards, as part of the “Million More Trees” initiative — a joint effort by all five Borough Presidents to have the City plant one million trees by 2030.
Siting preference will be given to underserved areas where a lack of shade creates “hot zones,” contributing to a disproportionate number of heat-related health problems.
