May Move Month
The DMS PE department is teaming up with the DMS PTA to get students active and moving in May 2021 for 21 days. Every week we will post activities for you to explore and try. The challenge is to be active for at least 5 days a week. After 4 weeks we will award students who have been active for at least 21 days with a cool gadget with the Dunloggin Dragon featured on it. We would like your feedback on what you have tried after week 1, so we can make more activities that you like. So get your water bottle, stay hydrated, and be active!
Activities week 1 from May 1-May 9
30 min walk with family member(s)
4x4 (1 minute exercise sit up, push up, jumping jacks, Russian Twists--4 rounds)
100 challenge- 10 reps of your favorite 10 exercises
ABC walk-find something that starts with each letter, in alphabetical order, as you walk with your family or friends
Find a 20 min yoga or stretch video on YouTube and try it out
Exercise ladder- 50 run in place, 40 high knees, 30 crunches, 20 push ups, 10 squats; Need more challenge? Repeat the ladder!
Create a fitness workout with 10 exercises- 2 upper body, 2 lower body, 2 core, 2 flexibility, 2 cardio--Try it out and share it with a friend
Biking for 30 minutes with family member(s) or friend(s)
